Yang Eng was from the village of Pha Khao, which was temporary Headquarters to Laos’ Military Region 2 in 1963. Yang and his family played important roles in the Secret War. After the war in 1975 (and for the next decade), they fought off enemy pursuits and helped saved thousands of Hmong lives - assisted them escape safely to Thailand. In the U.S., Yang developed a passion for archiving and digitizing Hmong documentary films. He is now retired and enjoys his time with his family.
