An issue at the heart of the Hmong SGU veterans is the advocacy work for having the burial rights for their deceased comrades at the U.S. national military cemeteries. This effort paid off. In 2019, a federal bill was signed into law, given the SGU veterans the rights to be buried at U.S. military sites.
