“Survived an attack”

It took me 11 days to arrive in Long Cheng [after we had lost a battle against the NVA). Our troops were separated on August 30th. We fled to Thong Ha Hin (Plain of Jars) all the way to the villages of La Sin and Thong Tha Bling, and finally arrived in Long Cheng. The escape was miserable. Pain in feet. My family and elder brothers did hear my name called that I had died. When they saw me again, they said I had luck and were happy I did not die.
