“Fear for husband”

My husband, Major Kang Ye Yang, being a soldier and having a family is very hard. There is the suffering and worrying for the kids. Also the worry for oneself being out in the battlefield. When he does not come home, we worry. We are scared night and day. At the end of 1971, a lot of soldiers died in battle. When the planes come back, we fear that it might be the plane that brings him home. If we talk about the sufferings and not having enough food to eat, these are less worries of a military wife. It’s the lack of appetite that these worries and fears had caused. One of the hardest things in life is having a husband in the military. We worry morning and night. There is not a single moment that we do not think of him so it was very difficult.
